An eight-page issue tells their story from cover to back page. Short on time? Choose the four-page issue: cover, reasons, gallery and wishes.
Pick a style — Glam for a fashion-magazine look, Gold for milestones, or Confetti, Space, Dino, Unicorn or Sports — or a ready-made template for their age or for who they are to you. Choose 4 or 8 pages.
Add their name, age and photos, then answer the guided prompts for each page. Prompts help you get started. Add your own words and photos, and preview the pages you choose; personal sections stay blank until you fill them in.

A birthday magazine is a personalized, magazine-style booklet made about one person for their birthday. Instead of celebrities, the birthday person is on the cover and every page is about them: the story of their life so far, the reasons people love them, a playful interview, favorite photos and messages from friends.
It works as a gift on its own, as the card that goes with a present, or as a keepsake for a milestone such as an 18th, 21st, 30th, 40th, 50th or 60th birthday. Because it is printed, it is something they can keep on a shelf and reread — unlike a message that disappears in a chat.
One person makes the magazine; friends contribute privately by message. Ask each friend for one word that describes the birthday person, one memory they share and one wish for the year ahead. Set a reply date before the birthday.
Our birthday magazine ideas page has specific prompts and questions for each of these.
Oolshak is a guided birthday-magazine maker. Choose a fixed layout, then add your words and photos in simple fields. The maker crops photos to fit and creates an A4 or US Letter PDF, with pages or booklet printing options. If you want to control every font, color and element, a general design editor offers more layout freedom.
Yes. Creating, previewing and downloading the PDF are free, with no watermark. You only need to sign in with Google to download.
Eight pages tell a complete story (cover, letter, timeline, reasons, interview, gallery, quiz and wishes). If you are short on time, a four-page issue with a cover, reasons, gallery and wishes still feels complete.
Download full pages in A4 (210 × 297 mm) or US Letter (8.5 × 11 in), or a booklet that folds to A5 or 5.5 × 8.5 in. See the printing guide.
You can add up to 12. One great portrait for the cover and five or six photos for the gallery are enough for a lovely magazine.
Yes. The maker is designed for phones: pick photos from your camera roll, type in simple fields and check the live preview.
Yes, optionally. You can collect wishes privately and paste them yourself. Or save your magazine after Google sign-in, then use Wishes to create a seven-day contribution link for willing adult friends. They can add a name and short note without an account; you review the notes and choose up to six. The contribution link does not show them your photos, editor or other notes. See the example and making steps. You can also make the whole gift yourself.
Your magazine is private by default. If you choose to create an optional unlisted preview link, anyone with that link can see its photos and words. You can stop sharing at any time; the link never gives access to your printable PDF. Unsaved drafts are kept temporarily and removed during routine cleanup when inactive; saved projects stay in your account until you delete them.
