What is a blind bag?

A blind bag is a sealed mystery bag with one collectible inside — you do not know which one you will get until you open it. Collectors love the surprise of opening them and the challenge of completing a set. Paper blind bags bring the same fun to a sheet of printer paper: you make the bags, hide the figures inside, swap and open them.

Paper blind bags have become a favorite craft for kids and grown-ups because they are cheap, creative and endlessly re-usable. Oolshak sets add a twist: the rarest figure can be the birthday person themselves.

Ways to use your blind bags

  • Party favors: one sealed bag per guest, with a checklist so friends can swap.
  • Birthday opening game: hide six bags around the house for the birthday child to find and open.
  • Classroom rewards: earn a bag for reading goals or good behaviour (ask your school about sharing photos first).
  • Advent or countdown: open one bag a day before a birthday or holiday. The Christmas set comes with seals numbered 1 to 24.
  • Rainy-day craft: color, cut and fold together, then trade.

Frequently asked questions

Are the blind bag templates free?

Yes. You can customize, preview and download every set for free. Sign in with Google to download the printable PDF.

What paper is best for blind bags?

Ordinary 80–100 gsm (20–27 lb) printer paper folds easily for the bags. For figures that stand up well, use 160–200 gsm (60–75 lb) card stock. See the assembly guide.

How big are the finished blind bags?

Each finished bag is about 6.8 × 9.0 cm (2.7 × 3.5 in) — big enough for a figure, a sticker or a folded note. Inside flat space: about 6 × 8 cm; fold the figure’s base flat before inserting.

Can I personalize the figures?

Yes. Name the collection, rename the characters and add a photo to the secret rare figure so the birthday star becomes part of the set.

What else can I put in a paper blind bag?

Stickers, paper squishies, tiny drawings, notes and small candies all fit. See 50 blind bag ideas.

Are these safe for young children?

The figures are paper and the bags are glued paper, but cutting needs scissors — an adult should help young children with cutting and gluing. Do not put small parts in bags for children under three.
